1. Who we are
HBGEN (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a link-in-bio, landing page, smart link and marketing toolkit operated by HERBIDEX and available at hbgen.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you use HBGEN, including when you connect your Facebook account, and what we do with it.
2. Information we collect
Account information. Your name, email address and a securely hashed password when you register, plus your plan and billing status.
Content you create. Bio pages, landing pages, links, files, images, products, forms and settings you add to HBGEN.
Visitor analytics. When someone visits a page or link you published, we record technical information such as approximate country, device type, browser, referrer and time, so you can see your statistics. We do not need visitors to create an account.
Payments. Payments are handled by third-party processors (such as Paystack, Stripe or Flutterwave). We receive confirmation and limited details such as the amount and transaction reference. We never see or store full card numbers.
Technical data. IP address, browser and device information and cookies needed to keep you signed in and keep the service secure.
3. Facebook and Meta data
If you choose Continue with Facebook in the Facebook tools, we receive from Meta only what you approve on Facebook’s permission screen. Depending on the tools you use, this can include:
- Your public profile: name, profile picture and Facebook user ID.
- The list of Facebook Pages you manage, with a Page access token (
pages_show_list). - Permission to publish, schedule and delete posts on those Pages (
pages_manage_posts). - Page posts, comments, reactions and engagement so you can see analytics and moderate comments (
pages_read_engagement,pages_read_user_content,pages_manage_engagement). - Page insights such as reach and followers (
read_insights). - Your ad accounts, campaigns and results, and, if you use them, the ability to create or pause ads (
ads_read,ads_management).
How we use it. Only to perform the actions you start (for example publishing a post, showing analytics, replying to comments according to rules you created, or creating an ad). We do not use Facebook data for advertising to you, we do not sell it, we do not use it to build profiles of people, and we do not transfer it to data brokers.
How we store it. Access tokens are encrypted on our server. Your tokens and Page list are kept only while your Facebook account is connected. We do not store the content of other people’s comments except briefly while a moderation or auto-reply action is running.
Your control. You can disconnect at any time in HBGEN (Facebook tools → Pages & account → Disconnect) or in Facebook under Settings → Business Integrations. Disconnecting removes your tokens and Page list from our server. See our Data Deletion page.
Our use of information received from Meta follows the Meta Platform Terms and Developer Policies.
4. How we use information
- To provide, operate and secure HBGEN.
- To publish your pages and links and show you their statistics.
- To process subscriptions and send receipts.
- To send service messages (verification, password reset, security and billing notices) and, where permitted, product updates you can opt out of.
- To prevent fraud and abuse and to comply with the law.
5. Sharing
We share information only with: service providers who help us run HBGEN (hosting, email delivery, payment processing), under confidentiality obligations; when required by law or to protect rights and safety; and with your direction (for example, when you publish a public bio page, that page’s content is public). We do not sell personal information.
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, protect forms against forgery and remember settings such as light or dark mode. Visitors of your published pages may receive cookies required for features you enable, such as password-protected links.
6a. Advertising (Google AdSense)
We may show advertisements served by Google AdSense on public parts of hbgen.com, such as our blog. Ads are not shown inside your dashboard and are not added to the pages you publish.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalised ads or advertising cookies are used, and can change that choice at any time.
7. Retention
We keep your account data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your content and personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal, tax or fraud-prevention reasons. Facebook tokens are deleted immediately when you disconnect.
8. Security
We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, encrypted access tokens, request signing for webhooks and access controls. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and enable two-factor authentication in your account settings.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the Nigeria Data Protection Act, the GDPR and similar laws), you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your information, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent.
